Emotions connect people like nothing else. No matter what our gender, age, or background, we all crave care and empathy. Art has always been a beautiful medium to reach out to others and form bonds over shared feelings and experiences. Expression can come through any number of different means. Being a blogger and writer, I find my strength in the written word. It was hence an amazingly proud moment for me when eminent Indian women writers with the same vision and purpose as me came together with our baby; a precious creation called Brave Inked Emotions!
Launched on International Women’s Day, our anthology Brave Inked Emotions has 31 eminent Indian women writers contributing tidbits from their journeys. From braving our battles with sickness and loss to sharing the challenges of parenthood and mental health, every story is as real as it gets. It has been written and portrayed truthfully with no holds barred. Everyone will surely relate to one or more of them and be filled with an overwhelming feeling of acceptance after reading.
My story “The Backbone of My Life” is extremely special and close to my heart. It is my ode to my father for being the strongest pillar in our lives. I look up to him for guidance, and I hope my story will help others gain positive insights from his wisdom.
Brave Inked Emotions has been put together, edited, and presented by Roma Gupta Sinha, a well-known name in the blogger community with 7 books to her credit. I want to extend my gratitude to her for making me a part of this beautiful journey. Without her efforts and gentle push, this anthology would never see the light of the day.
