Come April and bloggers across the world gear up for one of the mega blogging challenges of the year, the A to Z Challenge. They brainstorm for topics that suit their niche and sort out their calendars for blogging between work and vacations. Everyone leaves no stone unturned to make it a memorable experience every year. This is the second time I’m participating in this challenge and my theme has got me excited about it.
I had taken the plunge last year with much trepidation. Writing everyday can be challenging on many levels and being consistent while adhering to your theme and standards seemed daunting. However, I had the unwavered love and support of my friends who egged on me to join in. I not only completed the challenge successfully but also gained many new readers. The cherry on the cake was that I became a published author of an ebook in the end.
You can read details about the challenge and my last year’s theme here.
Now for the big theme reveal for this year. You see her everyday but have you ever observed her closely? While you live your mundane life unmindful of her presence she looks after you silently and goes about her job relentlessly. Your brickbats don’t hurt her and your blessings come back to you multi-fold. She is an ordinary woman but everything about her is extraordinary. She is an Everyday Goddess!
Do you see her smiling face while she checks your pulse and inquires about what’s troubling you?
Can there be a world which isn’t filled with her warm hugs and homemade food?
Have you noticed her exhausted frame standing on the road braving sun and rain while doing her duty?
Can you deny how her charisma makes you weak in the knees and makes you burn in desire within?
Have you been struck by her wrath for not abiding by her rules and beliefs?
She can heal, care, protect, tease or strike. Her magic and justice bring balance and semblance to this world; just like a Goddess. Knowledge, wealth, love or vengeance, she’s the source of everything. A little bit of her resides in every woman and makes her an unsung superwoman.
My theme involves weaving fictional stories around an everyday woman who has an undeniable Goddess quality in her. I’m sure you’ll identify with the various aspects of her personality or will connect it with someone you know. We bow down to Goddesses in reverence the world over, why not give their human reincarnates part of the glory too?
Thanks Mayuri, yet again, for your inputs and suggestions in deciding my theme.
