The man-child of the house incessantly mumbled under his breath for the dosa treat he missed the other day, and the ‘I love it when Mamma creates something only for me’ boy-child refused to have it with coconut chutney when I finally relented and marched to the kitchen to feed it to my hungry pair of darlings.
Thanks to A Jr and his idiosyncrasies, I racked my brain and made my version of Continental Garlic Chilly dosa (fancy name for a fancy boy, isn’t it? 😉 ) by layering the dosa with a (mayonnaise+ketchup+chilly sauce+garlic butter) paste seasoned with Italian mixed herbs.
Sadly, I had a fast and couldn’t taste what my imagination managed to cook up 😉 but the aroma that spread all around the house while the dosa was getting roasted and A Jr’s extremely pleased reactions convinced me that my efforts had paid off. 😛 I (not surprisingly) didn’t forget to take pictures though. 😀

The dosa aroma and sabudana khichdi on my plate sufficed for now. ☺

Hahaha…say…what would a heartbroken dosa look like? Simply torn through the middle? Burnt a charcoal black? Unevenly spread and roasted with empty patches in it? *seriously thinking* ????
hmmmm..or may be with a frowny/sulky look (uneven spread with a tinge of charcoal black mark in the centre) *seriously laughing now*
???????????????? Come on…even dosas have feelings…don’t they? The emotional ones melt in our mouth…the stubborn ones never come in the perfect circle no matter how much we try…the pesky ones eventually become intentional uttapams…and so on… ????????????????

We are co-writing here. Sky is the limit…like they say. Dosas, on the other hand, are man-made and come with their own minds and vices. Look at easily they create partnerships like Schezwan Dosa, Russian Salad Dosa, American Chopsuey Dosa…no loyalty left. 😑

And while in my twenties & thirties I used to laugh at my thoughts as a teenager, but still wondered whether couples in their forties & fifties could muster enough spark to liven their relationships. Life is funny, and I carried forward such thoughts(now I realize, stupid), from decade to decade. Only, now in my mid-seventies, still in love with the ‘love of my life’, I was very much sure that our desire for each other would remain intact forever”.
Wow!!! Attraction and love at any age for our loved ones remains just the same. Isn’t it? As we grow older by years, so does our feeling of belonging for each other. Beautiful story Hari. ????

Try this…if you have Arabbiatta sauce you can use it in place of ketchup and omit the herbs. If not, this tastes good too. Tell me if you try it. ☺
