The man-child of the house incessantly mumbled under his breath for the dosa treat he missed the other day, and the ‘I love it when Mamma creates something only for me’ boy-child refused to have it with coconut chutney when I finally relented and marched to the kitchen to feed it to my hungry pair of darlings.
Thanks to A Jr and his idiosyncrasies, I racked my brain and made my version of Continental Garlic Chilly dosa (fancy name for a fancy boy, isn’t it? 😉 ) by layering the dosa with a (mayonnaise+ketchup+chilly sauce+garlic butter) paste seasoned with Italian mixed herbs.
Sadly, I had a fast and couldn’t taste what my imagination managed to cook up 😉 but the aroma that spread all around the house while the dosa was getting roasted and A Jr’s extremely pleased reactions convinced me that my efforts had paid off. 😛 I (not surprisingly) didn’t forget to take pictures though. 😀
ah.. what else needed to fill her tummy even while on fasting..
The dosa aroma and sabudana khichdi on my plate sufficed for now. ☺
oh.. i was trying to appreciate her motherhood… being happy while the junior is satisfied.. ha ha.. your reply made me laugh…
Hahaha…motherhood and all is good….but we get hungry too na ????????
ha ha.. yes, yes…full day fasting or semi..?
Semi…have one meal in the day..either lunch or dinner.
aha….. innovative…… very tempting…… even seniors will like that….
Haha…thanks! Senior will probably get to test it when they are home. ????
????????
Good you cud not taste.. I was getting so jealous otherwise..????????.
I will…and shall…make it again ????????
This is not fair a alll… no no No noooooo
Hahaha
aahh..tempting! lucky man/boy children!!! and cheers to the ‘fast’ing lady of the house and of course, the dosas
I had to try very very hard to beat the temptation. ???? Lady has to do what she has to na…☺
hahaha….. poor dosas, but they would be thanking you(for fasting that day)
Oh no..I’m quite sure they yearned to be devoured by me too. Must’ve been heartbreaking for them! ????????????????
hahaha..that is a cute riposte ma’am!!!
(laughing at the thought of the ‘heartbroken’ dosas)…
Hahaha…say…what would a heartbroken dosa look like? Simply torn through the middle? Burnt a charcoal black? Unevenly spread and roasted with empty patches in it? *seriously thinking* ????
hmmmm..or may be with a frowny/sulky look (uneven spread with a tinge of charcoal black mark in the centre) *seriously laughing now*
???????????????? Come on…even dosas have feelings…don’t they? The emotional ones melt in our mouth…the stubborn ones never come in the perfect circle no matter how much we try…the pesky ones eventually become intentional uttapams…and so on… ????????????????
hahaha…now, if we collate our banter today, that by itself would be an interesting post
It would for sure. ???? I anyways believe that better conversations happen in the comment section.
so true!!!! ma’am varsha
????????????????????
hmmm..what about angry dosas…sad-sack dosas….grumpy dosas..or may be dosas with that ‘all-knowing/patronising look’??
and what about a pair of dosas in love?? and what about a ‘jealous dosa’
We are co-writing here. Sky is the limit…like they say. Dosas, on the other hand, are man-made and come with their own minds and vices. Look at easily they create partnerships like Schezwan Dosa, Russian Salad Dosa, American Chopsuey Dosa…no loyalty left. 😑
hahaha…culinary effects of globalisation may be!!
ey, here we have a place which gives, i presume nearly 100 types of dosas..may be if we pitch in, we could add our new combos also…
The Prem Dosa thing is it? Dosa Plaza? I guess its flagship store was in Vashi. Didn’t know back then that it would grow so much and become so popular.
hahaaha..you are around 1500 miles off!!!
Haha…ya! Navi Mumbai. Where are you? Kerala?
of course ! at the second most beautiful city in the universe
Kochi?
you got it right!! Pai dosa at Kochi!
Oh good. *pat on my back* ☺
hahaha…cheers to the smart lady!
????????????
And btw…you can call me Varsha…ma’am makes me feel like a 70 yo cranky wrinkly lady. ????
age is a state of mind (or so i believe for selfish reasons)! and so, shall adhere to your command (call you by name)
It is…I believe so too…but I’m yet to bring my mind to accept the state where I won’t be the same anymore. (I like not being half-bald, menopausal and wrinkled. ????)
hmmmm, sending an extract from one of my stories..
Where is it?
just sent
from my story ‘the resident evil & the disciplined pupils’ – “I wondered how a woman could look so beautiful even in her seventies. I watched her with possessive pride, as she came into the balcony, my favourite jasmine perfume announcing her arrival in advance. As a teenager I often wondered how oldies in their twenties & thirties could feel attraction towards each other. And while in my twenties & thirties I used to laugh at my thoughts as a teenager, but still wondered whether couples in their forties & fifties could muster enough spark to liven their relationships. Life is funny, and I carried forward such thoughts(now I realize, stupid), from decade to decade. Only, now in my mid-seventies, still in love with the ‘love of my life’, I was very much sure that our desire for each other would remain intact forever”.
Wow!!! Attraction and love at any age for our loved ones remains just the same. Isn’t it? As we grow older by years, so does our feeling of belonging for each other. Beautiful story Hari. ????
ey, did you read the full story???
(the loved one’s of course! and at times a few whom we pass by)
Nope…just this part. It was a lovely glimpse of it though. Please forward me the link to it. Will you?
sure ma’am
Again ma’am? Are you doing this purposely? ????
am i? what do you think! make a wild guess! if you are right, i will confirm(scouts honour)
You are teasing me…so that I concede that even when 70 I will be beautiful.
hahahaa…i was, varsha!!
See….I knew it!! ????
see…i agreed ????
Hi-five? ✋
sure ✋✋✋✋✋
Hahaha…I hadn’t given hi-fives to anyone other my son for a long time! ????
hahaha..honored, m..’.m! genuflect!!!
Ohhh….leave this ma’am genuflect yaar now… ????????
will do! sure
you know varsha, this genuflect thing, i was writing a message for my unit magazine, there as a symbolic salute to my predecessors i used the term genuflect! that’s how!!
Its a lovely word. I like it.

The images made me want to eat one right now 😀
I’m sure it would be very tasty.
And well you going great in this challenge.
Best luck 🙂
It looked so tempting? I will know today how tasty it was. ☺
Trying to keep up…just missed one day so far. Thanks Kavita. ☺
You’ll go great I am sure 🙂
Thanks Kavita. ☺
I am definitely trying this tonight. It’s dosa night coincidently.
Dosa night…sounds fun! ☺
Try this…if you have Arabbiatta sauce you can use it in place of ketchup and omit the herbs. If not, this tastes good too. Tell me if you try it. ☺
Will do. Btw the sauce combination is very similar to my Maggi.
Yeah…my Maggi too ???? Same pinch!!
I knew it! Great minds think alike ????
Always! ????????
tried. Big thumbs up.
Wow!! I’m happy happy. ????????????
