Love that knows no boundaries

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers
Love is felt, expressed and talked about all year around but it is in February that it hangs heavy in the air and makes its presence felt more than ever. Couples use it as just another excuse to celebrate their love for each other while single hopefuls are all set to woo their objects of desire armed with gifts, flowers, poetry and the like. Not just them, families and friends also enjoy this day by planning fun outings and get-togethers. Everyone has a reason to rejoice!

This year a group of 20 versatile bloggers have come together to talk about love and everything that goes with it. Whether it is suggesting trendy gifting ideas or loving yourself or your family and friends, we have something to add to the concept of love with #ShareUrLove. I’m happy to be a part of this blogtrain conceptualised by Dipika and Minakshi and thank Amrit for introducing me on her blog.

Typically love is about feelings for and bonding between people but is it limited to them or their reciprocation? Expressions can be in varied forms and degrees but can one demonstrate love for an inanimate object or concept? Love finds its way through the tiniest cracks and knows no borders. This bonding is far beyond any person or religion. It is pure innocent love, for a common purpose. I’m trying to explore this boundless love today.

Love for Music and Dance

With internet, social media and umpteen apps classical and modern music from across the world is literally at our fingertips. While Indian classical dances like Kathak, Bharatnatyam etc and music have taken over the west, their dance forms like Zumba, Hip-hop etc have been popularised in our culture. Love and understanding for music has made this seamless transition and acceptance possible. If the notes soothe us it doesn’t matter if they come out of a guitar or sitar, right? 🙂

Love for Sports

Countries vie for that enviable top spot in the Olympics and groom their sportsmen for various trophies that happen round the year. In our country we regularly get to witness the religion that cricket has become. While two people or teams play a match, it is the love and support of their countrymen on either side that motivates them to give their best. Win or lose, this bonding over games is what sportsmanship is about!

Love for Movies

We welcoming British Katrina Kaif in Hindi films with open arms and our desi girl Priyanka Chopra being raved about for her bold and beautiful run in Quantico and Baywatch prove that stories and characters matter more than complexion or diction. Hollywood promotes and releases its movies in India with as much fanfare as in the west while our stars mesmerise audiences with their electrifying performances in foreign tours. There is a familiarity and comfort that isn’t limited to any language.

Love for Travel

People have been travelling from one country to another for ages. However, with exchange students being on the rise, easy availability of information and road trips and travel becoming popular and more fashionable than ever, the world has truly come closer. Travel blogging, website reviews, etc have made this a good career opportunity too. Not to forget the various cultures and cuisines one gets to see and taste. Love for travelling has become rewarding, across the world!

Love for Food

Oh, where do I begin? Italian pizzas in USA, Indian dosas in Dubai or numerous Mc.Donalds outlets in India are no longer surprising and part of our eat-out culture. Food has always crossed boundaries and stayed long after its messengers were gone. Food is the one thing that can make rank strangers become friends within minutes, it can melt hearts and create bonds; it can make you feel at home in a foreign land and it can incorporate itself in our hearts, minds and plates easily.

Love is inclusive and only grows when shared. I know this line is clichéd, but it’s true. If humanity is alive it is because of our love for things that are far more important than the hatred that keeps us apart. It is in imbibing the good from others and giving them our best in return, isn’t it? This Valentine’s Day, let us all accept and celebrate the diversity that separates us and gives us our individuality!

Taking this blog train ahead from here is Ruchie Verma. She started her blog as passion and with simple motive “sharing knowledge is gaining knowledge” and is still learning a lot everyday and wiggling her thoughts behind her blog wigglingpen.com

    1. I feel so jealous of you, Bikram! 😛 You’re practically getting the entire world cuisine just across the street. Wow! That must be a great experience and completely spoilt for choice.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words, Shilpa. Boundaries exist only where lines are drawn, isn’t it? Love and feelings don’t heed any such thing. So glad you liked the post. 🙂

    1. I just imagined how a cute plump caterpillar munching on my kitchen plant leaves would look. 😛 I would love it too. 😀
Yes, love makes people value emotions and people and can make them less angry and less stressed. Thanks for this blogtrain, dear. Loved writing for it.

      1. Awww, i missed you too. But I catch you on Insta once in a way and get off the virtual world hungry after the visual treat you offer us. Not much into Insta so my apologies for not following you regularly.
I am super, V. How are you. Congratulations once again, I see you are an AUTHOR. Please tell me about it. I am so excited for you.

  4. You had me at ‘Italian pizzas in USA, Indian dosas in Dubai…’ It’s so true that music, movies, food and many such things have found love across various borders… Great write-up ?

  5. A lovely idea for a post and a delightful round up things that matter. Every relationship is like that, isn’t it? We grow together, with our love for another person, thing or concept. Love does make the world go round. Even among bloggers, as long as it’s genuine and heartfelt, blog love is a beautiful thing.

    1. Oh yes, Shailaja! Blog love is one thing that didn’t occur to me. Ironic, since I’m blogging about it. Thanks for reminding me.
I tried to explore love in a different way with this post. The love that we all feel but don’t realise or talk about its depth and meaning in our lives. Glad you liked it. 🙂

  6. Love is indeed inclusive and no its not cliched at all! Loved your post a lot Varsha for all the things you have included here which are truly global and have opened boundaries and hearts across the globe.
A note for the blog – its very neat, stylish and a very happy place to be in! Loving the theme you have chosen here!

    1. In today’s times when violence and hatred is pulling us all apart I feel it is important for us to hold on to things that can bring and keep us closer. Art, food and travel have crossed boundaries since ages and so has our love for them.
Thanks a lot, Shalz. Coming from someone who has a great taste your feedback means a lot to me. I chose this theme at the first glance for its neatness and simplicity.
