A Hi, and a little more :-) International Blog Delurking Week 2018

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers
While I’m excited about shifting to my own home, the one thing that truly overwhelms me is informing a whole bunch of people (banks, telephone bills, magazine subscriptions, etc) of my change of address. Despite keeping them updated with all necessary details there’s always that tinge of doubt about any possible effect on the continuity or being unacquainted with any important developments.

Quite similarly, when I shifted to my self-hosted blog last week, my mind was wrought with many such pestering questions. Is this change a mistake? Will my readers identify with my new blog? Would the shift drive them away? What if there’s some error and I’m left with no posts and no data? (Ok, I might be overreacting a bit here!) 😛

Taking inspiration from Parul, I’m writing for the International Blog Delurking Week 2018, to know those wonderful people who spare their precious time to go through my blog. I might or might not know you, but I need you to know that you’re important to me. You’ve been here before and hopefully liked it. Why not make your visit a conversation and carry it forward?

I’m aware that technically everything can be restored, well almost, migrated and there’s little chance I’ll miss any of my posts or followers. Yet, stepping out of my old blog, a comfort zone I had found solace in for seven long years, wasn’t easy. A home, even if temporary, is a home after all. You, my extended family, can help in making me feel comfortable in this new home, I hope.

That is why, more than ever, I request you, my dear readers, to tell me that you read me. If you’ve been around long enough you know that I’m an emotional person and it takes little to make my day. I’ve been told occasionally that my writing is all heart, and so am I. I value each and every one of you for your kind support and the faith in my own self and craft you’ve helped me achieve.

All I need is a line or two from you, for motivation, encouragement, suggestion or as a mere acknowledgment of a relationship we’ve formed with each other through our words. Also, since I’m still new with this self-hosted thing, I would really appreciate your feedback on my site. Did you like it or not? Would you mind giving any specific pointers I can work on?

  1. Hey Varsh, whether new site or the old one doesnt matter to me as a reader of your blog. Because the voice behind the both is same. So I am rather more than sure that with new self hosted blog site, you will dish out power packed articles for sure! And this current post is the testimony of my belief.
    Keep writing and pampering us.
All the best dear. Way from here is only up! Cheers!

    1. Thank you so much for those powerful motivating words, Anagha! Yes, the voice is the same and it possibly will resonate more with the carefree independence that comes with my own home. Wish the same for you, now that you have your own domain too. All the best for it, dear. Cheers!

    1. Thank you so much, Minakshi. True, as a reader the site hardly matters. As a blogger though, the insecurity does grapple us sometimes. I’m your permanent reader too.

  2. When I moved my blog to self hosting I was so tensed.. I kept on bugging my friend.. Even today a single technical issue in my blog makes me cry 😀

  3. Congratulations!! I haven’t been around a lot but yes, this entire blog did seem all heart. Hoping to stick around to know more <3 Much love to you, and to all the little celebrations called life.

Liked what you read? Tell me. Thanks!
