Resilient ~ Weekly Photo Challenge

It stood there quietly, witnessing

The sweat and blood of its creators

The pride and pleasure of its owners

The distinction, yet the comparison

The feeling of being a cheap treason

Enduring years of pain and withering

It is now a spectator of a different kind

The laughter and cameras, it doesn’t mind

At dawn and dusk, it greets its companion

The resilient twosome, go on in unison

There are such gardens and ponds on all four sides of the Maqbara

These are the pictures of the Bibi Ka Maqbara, which is located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Like with any other historical monument, it too has seen its share of neglect and dilapidation over the years. However, it still is a huge draw for vacationers (Aurangabad is closest to the famous Ellora and Ajanta caves) as well as locals, as you can see in the pictures.

Whenever it is time to switch calendars, good thing or bad I don’t know but counting the hits and misses or highs or lows in any given year isn’t the first thing on my mind. Our lives aren’t subject to change on an annual basis, are they?

Understandably, I don’t believe in New Year Resolutions either. Although, there is one thing that I resolve to do, this year and in my life after this; moving on. Professionally, of late I’ve been blessed with a few things I can rejoice about, but the umpteen setbacks I’ve had on a personal level could’ve been avoided if I had learnt to let go of things, on time. There is a limit to the amount of self-ridicule one can or should take. Anyway, better late than never, right? 🙂

Here’s wishing all my readers, who have in a way become my extended family, an awesome, rewarding, healthy and joyful time, every day of this year and always! Hope you move closer to achieving your dreams and the smile on your face never fades away. Love you all! <3 <3

  1. A beautiful post, Varsha!
Congratulations on all your achievements this year. For a super mom, like you, who consider her family foremost and still reaching your career milestones is a reason to celebrate. In order to achieve something, you need to let go of something else.
Prayers and wishes that you make the right choices, make headway with your personal achievements as much as your career choices, be happy, take every criticism in a positive light and simply enjoy life.
Hope to read about it all this coming year!
Wishing you my dear friend and your lovely family a very happy and prosperous 2017!

    1. You put such a big smile on my face right in the morning with this comment, Perfy! How can you be so sweet? <3
Super mom we all are, I'm sure. The fact that we see ourselves and manage our lives beyond being the wonderful homemakers we all are proves that we're already treading the less beaten path of self-discovery along with the growth and happiness of our families.
I'm going to write all about it. How else can I bug and pester my friends like you and yet manage to dodge the eggs and tomatoes I sometimes rightfully deserve to be thrown at owing to my incessant whining? 😛
Here's wishing you and your family loads of happiness, enjoyment, good health and prosperity, in this year and always. Hugs! <3

      1. Thank you, Varsha! Trust me when I say this is one kind of bugging and pestering I enjoy.
So very well said. Will wait for your write up!
        Good day my dear friend!
